Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
After determining if I need to heal, by forgiving others, or if they need to heal, by forgiving me, or if I just find a comfortable and peaceful place in my psychology that just simply wants to be left alone and not bothered by others, so they don't get hurt, and I don't hurt myself, I then can alone, daily, take a look at what I am, and what I am doing, in this new grace of God, called sobriety.
The society within society called Alcoholics Anonymous, says it's members should look for selfishness, dishonesty, and fear. They also say resentment should be looked for, but they also say that selfishness, dishonesty, and fear, are what causes resentment, so that makes no sense to me, to look for resentment at the same time you are looking for the causes of the resentment. You obviously are going to find resentment if you are looking for the causes of the resentment if you are a person with real alcoholism.
I personally like to see if my brain has thought in terms of the seven deadly sins. The answer is always yes. I have to ask for those "wrongs" to be removed, if it is God's will, not only for others, or dealing with others, but to see if I am growing. I might not be growing, and I might not have any more to have to grown on, but the effort to see, and to respect God, is important, due to the fact, that I have no reason to believe that he alone, removed my compulsion to drink alcohol whenever I wanted to.
Some suggestions AA has for starting a day is to ask or work for the self-pity a mind might produce if one is really an alcoholic, to be "divorced" or removed. It says dishonesty and "self-seeking" also will help, if not focused on. This idea that wrong motives, make a person dysfunctional spiritually, most people who are growing towards something enriching or healthy, can relate to. If you have wrong motives, you are only fooling yourself really, if you want to treat your alcoholism.
Indecision is a real problem, most people with a defective brain experience. I remember the terrible times when I didn't know if I wanted a drink or not. Then I remember not saying no, and the next 15 minutes being sort of like a heaven, and then the next 15 minutes being just a constant questioning of how many more will I have, and then the next couple of hours would be a "wonder what will happen next and I bet it won't be good."
I think the most important part of this portion of Into Action is the conclussion of "they will be done." If I am really practicing this form of treatment when it comes to alcoholism, at step three, I whole heartedly believe that God, who is loving and cares, is running the whole show, controlling everything, a part of everyone, and always has the last word, so as long as my inventories are leading me to that point, I'm doing something right.
If you're creating plans and dreaming during your inventory, about how much you can do and how much you are going to create, all you're doing in my opinion is letting your ego have the final say, which is too ignorant of the fact that God will have the last word anyway, so your finality is just a lie, and if you operate off it, you aren't able to tell yourself you are wrong, and that's a major problem if you are helping others.
I think a mark of if this is happening or not is if when you next meditate or try to talk to God, whether or not it is a spiritually producing experience. If you can produce nothing, when doing your 11th step in Into Action, you probably are too ego driven to make a difference in your life or another's, and if I read the literature right, you need to go back to step three and see that you are trying to direct, something that already has the best director possible.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

It's been some time since my last post...sorry. I've been going through a challenging time with the sale of my home, purchase of a condo and my adult asperger son that lives with me. I've had days where I couldn't get out of bed, days where I stayed in my pj's and days where all I managed to do was eat, drink fluids and take care of my Sweet Mia kitty. Sweet Mia came to me from a shelter about...
