Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

You are right -- stopping drinking is such freedom!
I think that is what I like the most -- no longer chained to the thought of the next drink or recovering from the last one.
That and being ALIVE, with clarity and peace, not numbed out and hiding.
Congrats on 6 months. It is a journey worth every step of the way.

I am happy for you and YES life is better sober! Congratulations on six months, that's half a year, something to be proud of.
1-2
99 days and counting......still cleaning up the messes I made while drinking so it is great to see how much I have gained too.
Kudos!
I will also turn over six months around the 22nd of this month. I am also enjoying many of the benefits you outlined. No more waking up in the morning and frantically scrawling through my outbox and Facebook to see what drunken nonsense I wrote. (I still post nonsense, only I'm sober doing it!)
I've also lost 20 pounds and no longer have to take my script for GERD/acid reflux. I have high BP, which I take medication for and it always ran high, due to the booze. It is so nice now to get a reading and have it perfectly fine and even LOW!!!
The dreams bother me, too. Lately, I've been dreaming about my old work buddies and how we'd love to drink during business social situations. In one dream, I actually took a sip of wine, then emptied an ashtray into the glass to ruin the drink.
Keep up the good work!
