hello! I have been sober for 22 days, yay! However I keep getting sick! I had food poisoning my first sober weekend, and now I have the flu. I never get sick, other than the 2 day hangovers I used to have. Is this maybe my immune system trying to recover from the years of alcohol abuse, and it's just having a hard time? Has anyone else had issues with getting sick soon after going AF? Other than withdrawal symptoms. It's very frustrating because I've never been healthier, eating well, no alcohol and gym three times a week, I feel like my body is betraying me. Any insight would be great! Thanks all

Probably just bad luck, poor timing and the change of seasons. It sounds like you're doing very well. Don't let this deter you. 22 days is awesome. Keep up the great work!!

I have long term sobriety and I was hit with a cold that took me over a month to shake. You get these viruses sober or drunk.

Nobody can stop food poisoning if the food isnt correct and you eat it expect to get sick. Flu is something some people never get like me! I never had flu shot until last year! Flu can be avoided but exposure to sick person and your pretty much screwed

I don't know how intense your workout is but too much exercise can actually weaken your immune system for the first 72 hours following an intense workout creating an open window during which viruses and bacteria may gain a foothold, increasing the risk of infection.

I am a runner and I noticed that problem when I tried to push myself beyond normal limits.

Congratulations on 22 days! Not an easy thing to do!

It's frustrating. I get a cold every time the weather changes. I don't get them as bad but still it's draining and when your defenses are down its a moment where relapse lurks. Keep on the path and you will get well . Cmon!

    So mad at Xfinity!  They're trying to charge me $115 per month for the same service I had been paying $50 the last four years. I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today!  Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...
