BIG HUGS......a stumble is not a fall. my philosophy is "life keeps taking and i keep giving" i think the secret goal is to realize you will never overcome the taking..............that only leaves one venue.....giving.

You are not a joke - you screwed up. Get some rest & pick yourself up, brush yourself off...just do the next right thing, right? What's done is done...focus on making tomorrow better. We're all rooting for you - you're worth it.

I agree with inonothing...a stumble is NOT a fall. You don't have to stay trashed tonight. You can go to bed...now... and go to a mtg in the morning. You are such a smart, bright, thoughtful, caring young woman, a pleasure to read your posts when you are sober. You have so much to offer....when sober. Please Anna, do what you need to do, do whatever it takes. Yes there are times I want to drink...but I know it will pass. I can't believe the last 5 months were so hard that you just HAD to have that drink.

Anna.......Im so sorry. Tomorrow is coming quickly. I've noticed the anger building. I don't know anything about staying sober, so I have nothing to offer. Just don't beat yourself up. That's the worst part of slipping. Hell....you're an alcoholic....this shit happens. So what, you drank, that doesn't take away all the months you have sober. Start again tomorrow. Maybe you could call you sponsor now?

drinking is what we do. to not drink--for us--is nothing short of a miracle. now, anna, you've had a taste of sobriety and you've known some very good days sober. cling to that idea and start over. i had to do just that many many times. use this experience to remind yourself on how you need not feel this way ever again. you know what to do. i love you, devon

The obsession and insanity was always bigger than me too. I relapsed several times because my defences just werent big enough. That is not a joke or a fuck up it is the illness of alcoholism demonstrating its power. I have been exactly where you are now, a horrible, horrible place. I kept going there until i could embrace another way. That can come for you too. Try to be safe and keep in touch.

Sharing this here is the best you can do... that and call your sponsor and head to a meeting if your going the aa way...
It took me 5 yrs to get 1 yr sober... as i had many nights of still experementing with drink..

Like it was mentioned its the first drink that will get you.... so if your willing to try again... Don't take the first drink... ((hugs))

Hey darlin', I'm here for you no matter what. This is what alcoholics do - they drink. And I gather from your post that you do get the idea that getting to AA and staying there and doing absolutely everything suggested will get you sober and keep you sober. It's now time to do that.

Could you please look at my message to you from yesterday and consider what I have said there, in addition to getting straight to the next AA meeting going, sticking with the women and sticking to the program. Some of us need to be in recovery along two tracks and without the second track, it makes relapse more likely. Please send me a message through My Messages. You have been so suppoprtive for me of late - now it's the flip-side.

Dump what you got and start over tomorrow. Life does not have to be this way, thank God. No sense beating yourself up about it for too long; just becomes another excuse to drink. Get your ass to AA everyday, get a good sponsor and do everything she asks you to do that she does herself.
