YES!! It was an exciting experience. It has been 25 years since I have been through one this intense!! I have renewed respect for nature so if it is a cat 4 or 5, I am so f'ing out of this place. It will still be a week or more before there is any kind of normal aroun here. I have food for a week so that is not a concern.

Well, I'm glad you're stocked up with all the necessities . On the news today, they said that all of you "unruly" residents who decided to stay are being asked to stay off the streets and out of the way. Hopefully, you'll be able to get around without too much hassle.

I love earthquakes! Love 'em love 'em LOVE 'em! Even as a little child I loved them.
Good thing I live in CA. I really don't know how to describe the feeling. The little ones I call "teasers". The 5+ ones are scary, exciting. The feeling of total, total helplessness and oh I don't know. Then again, I have never experienced serious consequences of one and they can be pretty devestating.
Cross my fingers I never do...but I sure can appreciate the unadulterated powers of this planet. I have an arsenal of candles. It's amazing how dependent we are on electricity. It's like life, as we now know it, stops.

I came though in great shape. My sister had her patio destroyed. My brother lost a ton of shingles. My parents lost siding, shingles. Trees uprooted everywhere. Signs blown over. The trees that stood up lost about 70% of there leaves. I know many trees lose there leaves in the fall but our live oaks are not suppose to. The strangest sight is seeing a cop car with windows busted out!!!

Yes I am worried about devon. She lives on the water. The storm surge was its worst where she lives. There are negative reports coming out of were she leaves but they got punished there just like I did. She lives only about 10 minutes away by car from where I live. They dont have power around there yet so that may be the reason she has not checked in. It is a real mess around here. I know from expereince the trees wont recover for years. I will tell of you this. I got my ac down to 70!!! 12 hours of tropical sticky is tuff. I was not expecting to get power for a weeks so this is feaking awesome. I took a shower and now I am just waiting to get drowsy so I can sleep. No church tomorrow. The church is on a creek that feeds into the bay. also, they wont have power. I can safely assume my hand bells wont be playing tomorrow :)
