Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I know what you mean about watching others get drunker and drunker and it makes you so happy to not be drinking and don't want to go back to that life.
And no, you don't have to do everything they do. I have to give it to you, I don't think I could be around a bunch of drunks myself and not drink. I usually have to drink just to be around them. Guess I haven't reached that place where it doesn't bother me.
I agree with Zach...it was early on for me too when it dawned on me that very few people drank the way I drank, or thought that they drank!
I want to echo stickywick and zachary. What a surprise when I first realized that not everyone was pounding back drinks at BBQs and parties. Some people only sip a beer, maybe two. Others don't drink at all.
Of course, I also had to drink before getting to the party. "Prime the pump" so to speak.
This fourth of July was my fifth one sober. Did not miss drinking a bit. Did not think about it other than to realize that no one was drunk, which was.
