Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I managed to stay sober for 9 days and I was feeling great and so proud of myself then Hurricane Matthew was coming straight at FL where I live so I planned to go to my Mom's house. As soon as I made that decision the cravings started it was like I had already made up in my mind that I was going to drink and I couldn't stop it. Needless to say I drank everything that wasn't nailed down and I haven't stopped since and that was a week ago. I don't know how to turn this back around. I feel like a failure. I also don't know why my Mom's house was such a huge trigger for me. I wasn't even stressed about the hurricane. Smh. I can't keep going through this cycle.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Are you still at your moms? No more trigger?
It's good that you stopped tonihht and you're thinking about quitting.
God Bless
Can you see an obsession for alcohol at work? Remember, an obsession is an idea that can overcome all other ideas. You were determined to stay sober but yet you made up your mind to drink and once you started you got a craving for more and could not stop.
The insanity of alcoholism is doing the same thing over and over but hoping for a different result. You will probably continue with this crazy cycle until you decide to take action to remove the obsession.
