Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

One of my fav AA ladies dropped a sponsee and sent her to me because "you two have a lot in common" she says. :-p
Turns out this kid can't stay sober. Imagine that.
Strange thing is, I really don't have an answer for the constant relapsing. It just took what it took. I guess the "help" I got reduced the frequency of my drinking and I learned a lot even while I was not in good recovery. I am eternally grateful for all the people who stayed supportive even though I couldn't abstain completely for a long time.
I do find it odd when someone "drops" a sponsee. I understand setting boundaries, and I may eat my words later, but I think I will be here for anyone who is wanting my help. If they aren't ready for help then it seems to me they will stop calling cuz they will get bored of me talking recovery.
If someone drinks LESS and is making progress - which I VERY MUCH believe is possible because I grew a LOT in the 2 years preceding my sobriety date a year ago - then I am here to help as much as I am able. It would be a true honor if I could pass on what I have received.
This kid came to coffee with my crew today and is supposed to call me tomorrow.
Cool.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Mind you I also keep in mind that it is often 'only at certain times we are without defense against the first drink'
