Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

My Monday night AA group is my favorite group. Its also my Sponsors AA group night. So the fact today is my 30 day anniversary is very fitting!
Excited to get raise my hand when the ask "any anniversaries today?". Cant wait to get my coin!
Gonna put a hole in it and put it around my neck till I hit 60 days. Then its going to my key chain.
Went hiking yesterday. It was warm and rainy in December here in WI (a very rare combo this time of year). Walking alone in the woods, in the rain, sober..it really helped me appreciate where im at and my connection to my higher power.
Wife and I are still struggling to get along. Sobriety hasnt magically fixed that issue, yet, if it ever will. I am handling it ok sober, I am focused on me right now, and if that is being selfish, so be it.

Tomorrow is National Massachusetts Day!Have you ever lived in or visited Massachusetts? If so, tell us what's great about the Bay State!

Regarding the challenges you have, you're right that sobriety doesn't magically make them dissolve. But as you note, you're so better equipped now to take on those challenges than ever before.
And you're not being selfish. Our recovery is like the advice given by pilots who advise in their pre-flight instructions to install the oxygen mask first on yourself, before helping others. Until we heal, we're not much help to anyone else. That said, still remain mindful of your wife's needs, but avoid triggers in your relationship.
Enjoy the 30 day celebration tonight!
I can relate to the marital problems. I was told by my sponser to let it go and see how things work out moving forward. They worked out in some very positive, unforseen ways so try to stay sober and stay positive if you can. IMHO

The wife stuff will come, especially as you work the program. step 9 could help make things better.
Until then, keep staying sober one day at a time.
