Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I posted this under families and friends of addicts but it also applies to alcoholics as well so wanted to reprint it here for anyone who has a family member affected by alcohol or drug addiction. It may be worth a try!
My wife's neice has a drug addiction and has caused alot of problems for the family by stealing money and meds. She has spent some time in jail for it but it hasn't stopped her from using.
Her mom was at the end of her rope and wrote to the tv show Intervention online and spoke about her daughter's chronic addiction. She is on probation and did not pass a court ordered drug test and will end up back in jail. The show's producers called her mom and told her to bring her daughter to the Portland jetport early this morning for an all expense paid trip to a treatment facility in Florida!
Although she flunked the drug test and is not allowed out of state, the show's producers intervened on her behalf. So she is on her way there now. I am including the link here for anyone who wants to try to get some help for their loved one.

This is a very socially proactive show and has won numerous emmy awards as a result! I haven't watched it in awhile but it usually comes on monday nights at 9 pm.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I hope this works for her, and thanks for the info.

WHich one was your niece? I have seen em all ;)~
Just as an example of how the girl manipulated her mother and grandmother right to the last minute. She made grandma give her $400 for one last fix, or else "she wasn't going on the plane" had them do many other things for her, "or else she wasn't getting on the plane". The girl had the itinerary in her pocket and had mom drive her to the wrong airport but was put on a different plane to go to the same place thanks to a sharp airline guy who we think knew what she was up to.
Big bear, I couldn't agree with you more! You are so right! Thanks soberfantasy and Lindarob and everyone else for your prayers. They help, believe me!
Peace!
We'll see what happens! Stay tuned!
I remember when I first quit, the only people I wanted to talk to about it were other addicts and alches because they were the only ones who had a clue that I couldn't just quit like turning off a switch, it doesn't happen that way. But, anyway TG for rehab and the 12 steps is all I can say.
