Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
PLEASE (asking not telling) everyone, check the dates of the threads you are commenting on. There is NO RULE (no right or wrong) that says you cant reply to an old post but I have seen some the last couple of days that go back 2 years. I know some NEW people may be a little unsure but if you look each post it has a date.
I read through TONS of old posts when I first discovered this site! I didn't reply to them, because I'm familiar with the format.
You can see that it's a new person that starts the post going again. Well, usually it is - sometimes it's just someone screwing around. That I don't get.
Personally, I think there's nothing wrong with bumping up an old post IF it has a lot of helpful insight in it. If there is arguing in it at all, I think that outweighs the good, usually, and the post should be left buried. Maybe in that case one could copy and paste the valued information into a new post.
I guess what I really want to say is, why does it bother you that people resurrect old posts? In other words, is there something more specific we need to avoid?
I still read a lot of older posts, there's some insightful and inspirational ones there. If a topic hits a spot with you, have a read. If you feel it would help today, raise a new topic with how it relates to you. It was interesting to see the sex post yesterday raised. I'm sure sex has improved for some since that post, right JTx? lol
I understand now, Joe... I've typed many words I wish I could take back...
