Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I am posting this for someone else who accidently deleted it. How I was able to find it in cyberspace and repost is yet, another miracle in this person's life! I wish her a speedy recovery.
Since I last posted here I still struggled with perodically "letting my world down" with social drinking. I was under an enormous amount of presure and feeling alone. On Dec 20th 2019 I went to the dentist, stopped for lunch and whileI was waiting I had a couple of beers. From there on it is blury. It was blury due to the alcohol and other stops like the winery and the crash that happened after that. I was induced with alot of amnesea type drugs to keep my brain from shutting down due to my 10 crushed ribs, 8 vertebre in my back, two on my neck and a spinal cord injury. I underwent 2 huge surgurys, one to fuse my back and the other to get my arms working again from the spinal cord injury. God is so good and angels had me that day. I appently missed a corner going to fast, barely missing the woman in the oncoming car who ultimatley called her husband who was an ENT and told him she didnt think I made the corner. He immediatly came to look for me but in his car he couldnt see me. I flew through many trees and barely by inches missed two huge trees by going inbetween them. I flew over someones driveway then my car nose dived in a hole and I was thrown from my car out the sunroof. I was ripped from my seatbelt. The man accually got out of his car and walked aroud and found my lifelss body in a huge hole. He thought I was dead till he heard my soft cries for help. I was taken to help. God and angels carried me through this there is no other explanation. I am and will make a 100% recovery with lot's of physcial therapy and help from my amazing family and friends. I now realized how much stress and pressure I was under. I have now changed everything in my life to slow down and thats it ok to ask for help. I am a changed woman I also realized that I was using alcohol to ease stress even not everyday but when I was feeling under life I turned to it instead of knowing I had people to help. I just didnt know how to ask. I want everyone to know that alcohol and issues dont mix and Im a lucky blessed woman and nothing will ever get me to that place again. God is good :)

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I really believe Divine Intervention saved your life that day.
Based on your description, there is no doubt in my mind. I have heard a few similar stories at AA meetings but none were as descriptive, as yours. Your clarity is astounding.
You have a storey that needs to be told...over...and over....and over again! It will save many lives!
Thank God you are still with us. Good luck on your road to recovery. May you find peace and happiness along the way
God Bless
