Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

On the way to an AA meeting tonite, I got stopped for a seatbelt violation so this meeting will have costs me $70.
All kinds of crazy things went through my head of which...you guessed it! ...Drinking was one of them.
Because I had to wait for the guy to write the ticket, I was late for the meeting which I almost didn't go to, blaming it on the reason why I got caught for breaking the law.
It triggered me to want to take a drink but I thought about it and I realized that would be a pretty stupid thing to do. Playing the blame game is something I was very good at. Blaming someone else for my actions and not taking responsibility for my actions was what my sick mind had become accustomed to.
It sucks but at least I didn't get caught for drinking and driving. Back in the day, I did that alot and am fortunate to never have had a oui charge for it.
There is a good sife to everything.
God Bless!

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Seat belt nono far cheaper than a DUI. One more reason to celebrate sobriety...
Hugs,
Dennis
But glad you saw where your thinking lay...great stuff :)

Seat belt laws in my state do not let the police pull over someone not wearing one unless another reason to pull them over....but across river in Illinois they can pull you over if they see your not wearing one....I suppose that is what happened to you....he just may have saved your life for $70....if henceforth you remember to wear it routinely now and if a bad accident happens....but that is futurethinking on my butt and I prefer to stay in the instant....
The meeting didn't cost you $70 it was your driving skill of not wearing the seat belt that cost the $70 which happened on your way to something pretty cool! AA is cool! and our higher power works in miraculous ways to keep us in line at times....hugs bill
