Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Yes, you feel bad now and your scared. That's pretty normal. we seem to never think of the consequences when were drinking. sorry but this is just something your going to have to go through. there won't be any easy way out. Your thinking good too about stopping drinking. All this fun that it's bringing to you...It's just not worth it. sorry pal, I wish I could say some good things to relieve your pain, but I can't. Just fess up to it, and be a man. Deal with it. You will be allright, but yea, your going to pay. Try not to worry. Just deal with today. When you need to deal with this, then deal with that day. Stick around recovery. It is a lot better, and easier. Have a good day.
Your lawyer will give you your next steps. Don't look ahead, focus on one task at a time. If you try to think of everything at once, that's when you'll start to panic again. And, of course, you've got all of us to talk to when you're angry, sad, ashamed ext. We've got your back!
Just keep it one day at a time, one task at a time. If it's your first DUI, and you show the judge you're in AA already, he will probably be lenient. So, chin up, buttercup! You've got this!
If this is your bottom, count yourself blessed. You sound ready to pursue sustained sobriety. Do whatever you can, get whatever help you can, ask for help from wherever you can get it.
Almost a year later, I am still cleaning up the wreckage of that night. But with every step I take, I feel a bit lighter and better.
This will pass and perhaps at some point in the future you will be able to share this with someone and it will help them.
