Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Day 6 and my First STRONG temptation to give it up-
It’s the weekend-no work tomorrow.
You’ve gotten past withdrawal.
Two days and then back to it.
Need some prayers and strength right now cause i’ve got more justifications right now than I have will power.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I stopped blaming other people and other things for my addiction which made me totally responsible but I forgave myself for all the damage I caused myself and others. Without practicing forgiveness, of myself for every little thing I was responsible for, I could not stay sober.
God Bless
Do whatever it is that can make you lose sense of time. Binge watch something, walking is almost never bad as long as bars are avoided, do something sensory and physical with your own 2 hands.
This weekend is a great gift for you to do something new and different that you’ll remember vividly for the rest of your life.

But... Beginning day 6 again (a month later) for the 2nd time.
Days 1-3 were just about as brutal- this time in different ways. I told myself I could drink Sat. & Sun then pick up Monday where I left off. I month later....
Thank you all for the encouragement!
That was the message on my Sobriety App, for my 2 month Sobriety Anniversary yesterday.
That cool device helps, but not nearly as much as my AA support system. Find support, and give it your all. I'm trying my hardest to stay sober, and so far, it hasn't been too bad. Hour by Hour, Day by Day...

See booze worked in making the world better. It was an immediate Ahhhh that’s better... but then it was more and more until I did something I regretted, then it was quit, then drink... see I never found something that replaced the drinking and would be sad and angry when I saw others drinking. This time I found new friends and a way to cope. I learned new tools for dealing with life.
Today I don’t just stick my head in The sand. I face life and deal with it, not hide.
Find a replacement and then you can get back to enjoying life.

I’m fortunate that I had enough of drinking when I finally quit.
