Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

It will help you understand where your drinking thoughts come from, now to isolate them, and then starve them.
As for being stressed out because of grad school, don’t hang on to that excuse. People worried about losing generational family businesses right now, bar and restaurant employees can’t buy groceries and pay their rent. Be grateful for being in school.

One video that might help you is this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2emgrRoT2c.
You'll have to cut and paste it because I couldn't find out how to insert a hyperlink on this site.
Or you can go to YouTube and type in Kevin McCauley "Is Addiction Really a Disease?"
This video changed my life and changed my understanding of what I have being an alcoholic.
Long story short the guy was a Doctor in the military and got hooked on pain pills. He got caught working on them, and had to go to military prison. In prison he studied addiction, and found stress plays a large role, in fact he says drinkers and drug users who become addicts use because of stress.
The science behind it is sensible. Knowing what the problems are is great, but having a solution is bigger. I have found no other way to initially stop drinking other than to join a support group or fellowship of some kind where you can relate to others who struggle mentally, physically, and spiritually with not drinking.
I joined AA after refusing to do so for decades, and my life got very simple and understandable. To this day I still rely on the love and care proper AA provides, and I do have the power to not drink, one day at a time.
Take care and let me know if I can help in any way.
I love that video! Thankyou for sharing!
