Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Have lost everything in my life. Nobody will answer the phone when I try to call them for help. Only my mother answers, but she is house bound and I am not allowed to visit her or stay with her - she needs me so much due to her physical disability and age. Hearing her struggle and her tear on the phone is heart breaking and unbearble that I cannot help her. So much of life i regret, most of it.... and is too late for so much. I struggled all my life going from one problem to the next. And now here i sit in a house that I will be kicked out of in the next week or few weeks, with no where to take my belongings, and no where for me to go sleep. No job or money. One to talk to, only my mother who is suffering to move around her house because i am not there to look after her, struggling to feed herself, because of my alcohol addiction and my inability to control my emotions or anger.
This pain and grief for my mother is literally killing me.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Then my wife got pissed at me which is another story, and she called the cops on me. Long story short, I got a police escort to detox. That was the best thing that ever happened to me! I knew I needed help but I was too afraid to ask for it. Fortunately, someone else made that decision for me.
After detox, I went through an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) followed by 3 months of group counseling and through all the counseling I received, regular attendance at AA meetings were a requirement. I got a sponsor and I did the steps. I have since branched off onto other forms or spirituality because my search for meaning is never ending. I meditate every day and talk to my Higher Power regularly.
That was 12 plus years ago. Today I have a great life and I have never been happier.
We have all been in your shoes. My only suggestion is this: All you have to do is stay sober. If you do nothing else just stay sober, one day at a time. Then watch the miracles happen!
God Bless
I’m sure you know this as you are admitting the problem to yourself and are taking the only step to heal. Stop the drinking.
This I Must Earn.
Unfortunately, it's going to take awhile, and if you're anything like me...you're not going to like it. But hang in there, do the work, and watch your life change for the better, albeit SLOWLY.
I stopped the booze July 10, 2012. It’s been seven plus years and I admit it is tough sometimes but I try to help others and not be a self centered a hole.
Imagine a life that is worth living. You are worth that life. Find some other alcoholics and ask for help. That is the way to begin again.
It’s like trying to lift myself up out of a hole with my belt loops. I just pull and pull and no progress. I had to ask for a hand
