Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Wishing you all the best on your journey to sobriety.
Personally, I tried hard to get sober but I just couldn’t do it. There were some serious obstacles in my path from the very start, the biggest being that I had no idea of what I was dealing with. As I didn’t understand the problem, I was likely to apply the wrong solutions. It was only when personal failure led me to AA meetings that it all started to make sense. That was almost nine years ago now and I have not taken a drink since.
Rehab is a good start and if you follow it up with other ongoing help, you will be on your way.
It reached a point when my wife called the police and I was given the chance of going to jail or detox which was an easy choice. That was the first day of the rest of my life, When I allowed others to help me, help myself, when I allowed others to do for me what I could not do for myself, When I learned to accept the seriousness of my situation, rather then constantly minimizing it.
My recovery began with 4 days of detox, followed by a 3 week IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) , followed by relapse prevention, group counseling. Throughout all the treatment I had, regular attendance at AA meetings were a requirement. If one of these pieces, of the puzzle of my recovery was missing, I would probably not be here writing this to you! It took all of this to bring me to a point where I could live a genuinely happy, sober lifestyle! When I stopped closing the doors that were appearing in front of me, was when I began seeing some meaningful improvements in my life. This was over 9 years ago. Today, I have a great life and I have never been happier!
God Bless

I had a lot of "Day 1"'s in the last 30 years!!!! The last one was May 20, last year. That day I found this site and through all of the support here I just celebrated Day 365 yesterday. There is hope. Don't give up!!! :)
It will be a rough road but know you are not alone - on days when your strength waivers reach out.
Much love and hugs.
I’m so glad you’re trying again! It is absolutely worth the try. An old proverbs said, “For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again,” (Proverbs 24:16)
Keep up the good work! Remember, it is the devil who comes and steals, kills destroy your very being. Don’t let the lie suck you up but look upward for new strength and hope!
Praying for a strength and wisdom for the road of recovery!
