Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

At one point my desire to find sobriety overwhelmed my desire to drink. It gave me a window of opportunity in which to take some action and get well. I am grateful for every single day of sobriety now.
Long story short, those two drinks turned into many, for some reason and he was drunk for the next 15 years before he got sober again.
That's the nature of this disease. It can sneak up on you when you least expect it to. I have to keep that in mind at all times.
God Bless!
Thanks
Confused
He drank out of what he calls "complacency." He stopped doing the things he used to do to get and stay sober. Slowly. And a week after new years a friend called him to come shoot darts in his garage. that friend offered him a beer and without a second thought he drank it. Had two more and went home. No big deal. Two nights later was stumbling drunk, passed out in his living room and threw up. His boys saw this. He's back in the program and working on a day at a time.
Scared the heck out of me. He's smarter than I am, had more sobriety, seemed to have a great program. But by the grace of God go I. And I don't know if I have another sobering up in me:-(
