1is2many, AA doesn't need us to defend it. It's been around for 75+ years and I look for it to be around for generations to come.

The shame is that all the hyperbole coming from this individual who claims to want to help is going to make a suffering alcoholic turn away and go on for years more or die of untreated alcoholism.

I, for, one, will no longer respond to this troll. Don't feed a troll and they go away.

I don't believe in the alcoholic personality either but this is not what is meant when we talk about being selfish. I'm a nice person too and always wanted to be but I behaved like an asshole when I was drunk, I was angry and violent, sad and pathetic, behaving like that and all the other ways I was selfish, hurt other people as well as me. I wasn't particularly controlling but sometimes the description just fitted! There isn't an exhaustive list and it doesn't fit everybody and everybody doesn't fit it. If it doesn't fit you that's fine, just make sure that nice guy is what everyone else experiences with you!

I went to a meeting last night, having a good day so far. Don't know what it is about meetings but when I go, I always have a good week.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
