Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
In this forum and on this site there are very vunerable people and people should understand that and respect that.
Peace.
Just for you.... Here Here!!!!
My points were :
A) If it's OK for party A to air party B's dirty laundry, the thread should not be closed just as party B mounts an apparently viable defense. Accusations are wrong or not, and I didn't see mauch call for closing until some started defending Wayne. Am i wromg? Juist look at the thread chronologically. That's what happened in "real time" .
B) That closing threads is censorship and doesn't work. And no Mbear I won't "love DS or leave it " I'll speak out for what I think is right.
Mel, who's "right or wrong" is almost imaterial to my post. the thread appeared to be closed because Wayne was being defended.
I wrote 'If you don't like it, smile or'tut' and move on :) '
As in 'don't comment on the thread'. Not leave DS!
Just goes to show how things can get misconstrued on here!
Happy New Year :)
I should not have got involved.
Thanks for pointing this out!
not have responded. Now. If you don't like what I (sometimes) have to do you have two choices. Have me fired or get over yourself. At this time I am the only CL here. There are others that will visit or help should I ask.
As for Anne's comment , OK being sober it was outrageous but she did apoligize and I think it's understandable under the circumstances
As for those of you who are saying this is Mel's business? Well it was until she posted it, now it's not.
It's just that I'm sort of a Constitutionist who is often critical of my government's policies. I am therefore often told to" love it or leave it"
To which I respond do your civic duty or leave, which most of them neither understand nor like.
So I guess I'm a little over sensitive to!!
Really, some good advice for newly sober people is to stick with people of the same sex (or opposite if they are gay) for guidance and support. It is so tempting for us to create drama in the sexual arena to detract from the real issues at hand.
Really consider following this rule of thumb for the first year atleast. Flirting and sexual stuff only gets in the way of recovery and is a distraction. I know it can be sometimes fun (in this case not so much), but this is life and death people!
