I realize this was not the intent. But a recent thread was apparently fine as long as one member was bashing another for "stalking"

But when it became apparent that there was another side to the story, which really shouldn't have shocked anyone, and members called the original poster on that , suddenly many called once again for censorship. It gives the appearance, at least a little, than man bashing is OK, but defending one is not. I know that wasn't the intent but if the original accusations were acceptable, so were the accusations against the poster. How can that not be the case??

Both had parts.
Timing of closing the thread was not perfect.
What can we learn from this?
Complex, many issues to look at for each of us, is the way I'm thinking.

so im accused of lying then donttread am i? u know what i am sick of this i was just trying to b honest.. i know what happened and yes i had a part in it too .. u can all sit there and judge me ... this is exactly why i did not want to say anything coz i wudnt of being believed... i dont care what anyone thnks i know what happened and i have proof that it happened... anyway forget it it doesnt matter no more...to hell with u all

I actually asked it be closed because it seemed like suddenly everyone was fighting. AND not even like anything was getting solved either.
Let it be known here and now "I love men" ok? But this thread was starting a real war. At least to my view... and I could be wrong. It happens a lot actually.

I agree... This is between them and should stay between them.. Everyone at this point should keep their opinions to themselves.. This does concern any of us unless we are asked... She was only letting us know the reason she was really upset yesterday... and cable thought it would be a good idea for her to express herself.. That was the main point.. Not to get into a he said/she said compettion...Its over and done with... let it go.. jeeezzz....

I've been the victim of being erroneously called a stalker by a attention-whoring, victim-addicted crazy bimbo so I'm a bit biased but dontread is right.

Ruining one's reputation and having many thread posters saying shit like that's sexual harassment and stalking is disgusting but acceptable around here.

This forum is not "free press". There are rules that we all accept when we sign-on. This is DS, and it's not a free-for-all, and that thread was bad and getting worse. It was likely to stay at the top of the board all day long, creating drama. This would take away from the support that this site should be offering, and scare away new people.

You're right that there were two sides to the story, and I'm glad we are no longer "piling on" one of the parties involved. But sometimes, a thread should be closed.

I actually didn't think there was fighting going on and I think it should have been kept open because its fair game to talk about CONDUCT. Conduct becoming a gentleman and conduct becoming a lady. Unfortunately as Alcoholics we are pretty used to conduct reflecting ALCOHOLICS. We need a new compass and instead of ignoring bad and unacceptable behavior ON BOTH SIDES we need to perhaps just ...get it out of our system.

Personally growth is a measure here , to ourselves individually .Sure am glad That was firmly in- planted into me " how and when to give or whether I otta just stay neutral and just Trust!!! God bless!!!
