Tina Tuner, may she rest in peace, has practiced Soka Gakkai Nichirin Buddhism since 1973.  Her death reminded me of a Nichirin Buddhist Recovery group, the Sun Lotus Recovery Program located in Brighton, England.

AA didn't work for me. I got sober going to Zoom Dharma classes every Wednesday evening here in San Jose, CA.

I don't know anything about that one but if it helps people stay sober, then I am all for it. Certainly there are hundreds of ways to stay sober and I think we are all responsible for finding what works for us.
AA helped me, but I also went through outpatient treatment followed by group counseling. I had to be ready to do everything it took to stay sober, so I did everything my counselors asked me to do.

Well Zoom meetings seem free, but they offer other thing paying for it: Currently "the cost of a one 2 one session is £60 but the first consultation is free."
Never been asked for my sponsor any quantity of money for in AA for a one 2 one session.
But if it works for someone......

I don't pay a penny for zoom lesion. The organization pays for it.

There is always nit picking when someone posts that AA didn't work for him. AA is a great organization and has helped many alcoholics. It just is not my cup of tea.
There is a notice to newcomers that they chant for the first 15minutes. I am sure that most will not be attracted to it.

My other zoom Dharma class is not a recovery group. I got sober just by flowing the teachings of the Buddha that I learned. I learned about the Sun Lotus group after sobriety.

then great if it works for you. Anything that helps to keep you sober is good news.
It's true AA does not work for everyone, but I am happy enough, it did for me.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
