Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Today at the gym, after a good 45 minute workout, a little voice said, "Keep pushing! Go longer and harder". As I am trying to work on balance and moderation, I decided to leave after just 45 minuets. It was a good workout, and I feel good about my decision :)

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Good you are in control of you

For me, I am stopping any attempt to escape uncomfortable and emotionally painful moments. Now that I don't drink, I often want to go for a run and listen to my music to get out of my headspace and thereby escape the crap feelings. I stopped that, too. Now I face those moments head on and let the feelings flow.
I will say, though, I LOVE my workout time. :)
It's great to see you still going and sharing on here.
Being active and working out is so important. But allowing yourself to stop instead of pushing on is incredibly healthy.
Consistancy is the key. Running less miles every day for me, is better then running more miles once every 3 weeks!
We all need balance in our lives....I just found mine!
God Bless!
As Sosa mentioned, we need to face our thoughts head-on, not run from them.
And, as I realized, we must not define ourselves with externals... because, as we all know, everything is impermanent, and when it is gone (as all things will be gone) we're left naked, exposed, and drinking again.
