Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

So tomorrow is my 51st birthday! Yippee! Another day to get drunk.
Last year spent my 50th on Miami beach. I planned for a week of getting drunk.
So what makes tomorrow any different?
Because i dont want to do this anymore!
I went as far as checking into inpatient. I was told with my insurance would cost me a couple thousand dollars i said......i could take one hell of a vacation for that!
So sad.
Thanx for listening to me wine...ok better word...be sorry for myself.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Only YOU can change what will come for the next year. You have to really WANT to be sober. There are a ton of resources out there and support, you just have to reach out. We're here for you!

When I was told how much my costs would be, 10 years ago, I used it as an excuse to keep drinking another two years until it nearly killed me, which provided me with all the more motivation to get sober and stay sober! Then I didn't care about the costs because I wanted to do all it took to get sober and stay sober!
Like Jen said, there are alot of people willing to help so don't be afraid to ask!
God Bless!
You get to choose. If you think you need inpatient to quit, then figure out how to pay for it. So what if you have to take out a loan or skip a vacation trip. Isn't getting your life back worth it?
We are here for you. Even without rehab, you can still have a happy and sober birthday. It would be the best present you could ever give yourself. You deserve it but you have to want it.
For me, when I quit and realized I did not ever have to drink again, it was a big fat relief. But I know I could not manage my drinking -- I was too far past that point, my brain was hardwired to always want more. If you are uncertain about quitting totally, you might want to quit for just 30 days and see how you feel. If you can't quit for 30 days, that also is telling you something about where you are with drinking.
