Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

However, I no longer drink.
Are you aware that 'anger' usually comes from 'fear' ?
Jimmy
I think Jack is right. Anger can == fear, insecurity, shame, etc.
I used to drink when I was happy, drink when I was sad,
drink when I won something, drink when I lost something.
When I quit drinking I had to learn to deal with all those emotional
issues ... it's a much better way to live ... but a little tricky at first.
I thought I was a bit of a bad ass and didn't like being told
my anger came from fear ...
I was told when I wake up each morning ...
I had a choice to make ...
my day would either be based on FAITH or FEAR.
If I accepted that things, even things I didn't like, were the way they
were supposed to be ... and had some purpose ... even if I didn't
understand it at the time ... that would be Faith and I'd have no
reason to get mad or pissed ...
If I chose FEAR ... I'd second guess everything and experience
plenty of anger, fear and confusion.
So while I'm not the best at this ... it did/does at least give me
a chance to have a good day usually.
I'm definitely calmer, don't need to get messed up so much, etc.
Good luck with that anger girl,
Jimmy
So are you just angry at the world ,or you get angry after you drink alcohol. That's easily fixed don't drink alcohol. Or if alcohol calms you down how much alcohol do you need to achieve that and do you stop when your calm.
I know at times when i drank the alcohol made me feel 12 foot tall and bullet proof. Does it have the same affect on you.
Just curious .
God Bless...

My anger and angst, which I could have worked through with help, instead became focused on myself after years of boozing and became depilating depression with the drinking. And then rabbit hole got deeper and deeper.......
So I guess I would suggest working through that anger instead of running from it with self medication, ie booze.
