Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I have been with the same guy for almost 8 years now. Nothing has changed, our relationship has not grown or strenghtened if anything it has worsened over the years. As I have grown into a different and stronger person over the years I look at him and see no future anymore. I have always hoped we would buy a home, get married and have kids. But I know that is not our future together at least with the way things have been going. My boyfriend is 28 years and has been drinking like a fish since he was a teenager, he doesn't drink to get a buzz he gets pretty toasted almost every night. Most of his friends also seem to drink almost everyday and his Dad is a bad alcholic, so he is around it all the time. He feels the most comfortable with them because they don't judge him like I do. He isolates himself from me every night. When I come home from work I cook, clean and take care of my 9 year old son all alone. While he sits on the balcony talking on the phone, smoking cigarettes and drinking until he goes to bed. I rarely get a "how was your day honey" or a kiss on the cheek when I come home. Let alone a "hey let me help you with that".... My boyfriend also struggles with depression and anxiety which comes hand and hand with drinking, it's like a vicious cycle he drinks to feel better in the moment but the entire next day he feels terrible until he can drink again. He has never really liked talking to me about his feelings or his drinking, he usually shuts me out. But recently he opened up to me about his depression and how he doesn't care about anything and randonly will cry for no reason. And how he wants so badly to stop drinking. But honestly he has told me so many times he wants to stop drinking and it always has the same end result. Him opening up about his depression to me is a big deal because he never talks to me about things like that. But sometimes I wonder if it is just an excuse so I will pitty him and maybe he can get away with his bad behavior just a little longer. I know that sounds horrible but he has manipulated me in the past when it comes to his drinking there is always an excuse. We are not sexually active at this point, we don't go on dates or spend any quality time together, he doesn't spend time with my son and doesn't build a relationship with him. I don't know what the point is anymore. I am not married to him, so should I really stick around. I am at a point in my life where I want to grow with my spouse and start a family and he apparently doesn't care about anything so I don't know how that is going to work. I know I sound heartless and sound like I am not being understanding of his mental health. But he makes zero effort to get help and when I offer ideas he just shoots them down. So I really have lost all hope and I am growing tired and lonely. A part of me loves him and doesn't want to let go because I have invested so much time into this relationship and I don't want to give up. But another part of me says I need to be selfish and find my own happiness elsewhere.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

There is very little you can do. You should place yourself and your child first and find a safe emotional space.
May the force be with you
