Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Some of us lie to ourselves that we can just a one every now and then.
Nope.
I'm scared to death what would happen if I just had one...
Same reason why I never dropped acid.
I've heard at meetings of people specifically selecting cold medicine with alcohol with the hopes they'll get buzzed - and then later feeling like it was a relapse and then resetting their sobriety clocks. That's because their intention was to get buzzed, and they had non-alcoholic cold medication options.
I've also heard the same story as your numerous times from numerous people, and they didn't reset their sobriety clock. It classifies as a mistake, and as a warning.
Like others wrote, if you feel you need to reset your calendar, so be it. I'm thinking that myself and most of my friends in a program wouldn't think it was necessary. Your call though.
I took ONE dose to SLEEP. Now, if I was doing shots of the green monster to get buzzed so I can stay awake and feel the buzz, that's another thing. But it's still al little scary for me and I have to be very careful...
That said, again, it's all about intention for me...
