What is the 24 hour prayer?

Have you ever used it? If so, under what circumstances?

Did it help you?

An older fellow mentioned it at a meeting this morning and I didn't know anything about it.

I hear d It was on awakening... ask for help and through the day continue with action of centering ones days around what meeting and or recovery exercises lol that enhances the day.. No matter which way it goes.. And even if your ass falls off "You just Don't Drink" and in the evening before retiring ( sleep ). thank that power greater than you... for the help that was given . I cant recall hearing about the 24 hour prayer but that doesnt mean that it is not common enough. Could the old-timer have been referring to the Twenty-Four Hours a Day (Black Book), which is a widely used book of prayer and meditation? The book is published by Hazelden, who will also send you free inspirational daily messages if subscribe at the link below:

I don't know PJ. He just spoke about how the 24 hour prayer helped him when he first quit drinking.

Third paragraph down on page 86, it begins with "On awakening, let us think about the 24 hours ahead...

There are directions on how to pray and what to ask God for throughout the day.

That may be what the fellow was referring to. Those directions helped me out a bunch in the beginning and still today although I don't have to read them in the BB anymore. It just comes kinda natural today.

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
