Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I went to a meeting this morning. The Last Chance group which is the group I started out with over 3 years ago and am a member of. It has a mix of newbies and others with many years of sobriety. It's a discussion group.
Not once during the entire hour did I hear mention of God or Higher Power and yet there were many, with many years of sobriety even, that were struggling with defects of character, such as anger jealousy, frustration, etc etc There was alot of talk of how difficult it is for them when to me, it is such a simple thing!
It's all in step 6 and all we have to do is ask and we will receive although we may have to do it more then once, like, every day.
I should have said something but I didnt but came away with the realization, I am at a different point in my recovery then the others attending here today. I think the friends I have met in this group have helped me tremendously along with some readings I have done so thankyou all for coming here today!

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
I am just home from my home group and I commented to someone the same things....
I get horrified when I hear someone, say, with 10 years, sharing about when they first came in. I want to hear about how life is today WITH program and HP. When they share about their 'fear' being relapse! What message does this send out?
I love sharing life today and how I use HP and the tools of the program to grow. Today I shared about my whirlwind week and it felt good to share that hope.
I am so glad I have a sponsor who is HP led. Today I too am HP led :)
He found me once...that is all it took. i am not a thumper.....He is with me even when He's not. He lets me walk.
as for golf tournament pitches? i would watch just for the outtakes. it's all life
