Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Initially yes. But don't let it get you over time. We swap a lot of things out for alcohol. Ultimately though, if we continue this, we are passing on what is hurting us inside from alcohol to the next things.
I turned to sweets. Many days I wanted that beer or two after dinner, and found that it was morphing into desserts. My sweet tooth grew. I was already an emotional and binge eater.
AA taught me to handle my emotions. And let stresses go. I no longer drink and even when I did, there were times when I got in a fight with my wife or had a rough day, where I equally hit the drive thru instead of the bottle.
Going through AA, learning to avoid resentments and leading a life with more accountability and integrity has been huge for me. I've lost weight by adjusting my mind.
I no longer drink nor eat through my problems anymore.
Chances are this is a passing thing for you, but beware of transferring your problems, fears, hang ups from one thing to the next.
If it were to continue I would strongly advice you to seek counselling. I had cross-addiction for many years and it was all just a symptom of the same inner issues that I was trying to heal from. Counselling is helping to enable me to deal with my emotional pain and find ways to alternatively cope without having to use addictive behaviour.
Good luck to you:))

Here's your chance to pursue an interest that you've forgotten or never got around to pursuing before. For me, it was dance classes and photography. You can learn something new, volunteer for those in need or tackle anything else you'd like.

And I've lost the 3lbs I gained. Gonna try taking a exercise class. Should help with the boredom, and keep me staying away from the sweets.
Thanks for asking. People on this site have shocked me with kindness. It helps a lot, knowing that someone cares.
