Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I havent had a drink in 8 months. It is pretty amazing to know and feel that but it also gets emotional to be excited about such a thing. It is a really big deal though and every moment really counts and adds up! I want to continue holding myself accountable and offering help if I can. Alcohol is such a soically accepted form of fun that turns into coping and addiction for those in my family and community and I never thought I was see the day where I could say "I dont drink". This is the longest I have ever went. Thanks for listening.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I can identify. I went to a wedding with over 200 in attendance and I was the only person there, who was sober. To me, it is so sad that people think they need alcohol to have a good time. I was in the minority with the kids but I felt good and I felt powerful!
You are a light in the dark so keep it burning bright and soon, others will follow because they will want what you have!
God Bless
Thank you sooooo much! It took a long time of drinking, feeling like crap physically and emotionally and then after 10 years of hard drinking I realized it isn't fun, nice, awesome or even effective anymore and I realized I was drinking out of habit and false belief that drinking makes me happy and the better version of myself which I found out was very untrue. I am so thankful for giving myself the option to prove me wrong to me and it became the best choice ever. I understand your feeling of power and also sad for those who feel like/make others feel like drinking is the only route to a good time. Congratulations to you and your success being sober that is awesome to hear :)
first of all I LOVE your name :) and thank you! It is definitely precious and I am too happy that is has revealed what is good in you. Life is short and if you are blessed enough to be able to focus on and live life with the best version of yourself you are truly experiencing something that is irreplaceable and unfortunately not everyone has a chance to experience. Great job :)
Thank you I really appreciate your kind words and support. You can and will get there one day. It really adds up with each second, minuet, hour, day and so on so be proud of each step and don't be hard on yourself. There are a lot of different factors involved in this journey and sometimes we dont have the tools we need to believe what we need to in order to stop and love life without it. I have faith in you and I hope you continue to reach out and be inspired because that is a big step and says a lot about you :) Keep us updated and reach out on good and bad days. You can do this!
Thank you so much!
