Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I have 7 years of continueous sobriety today. I am happy and content with myself and my life. I like who I am and I love myself. No more shame, I have learned to accept who I was and who I am now. I have a spiritual life. The things that my disease took away from me have been restored - family, friends, relationships, self-worth and self-esteem.
I am one happy (and sober) camper today.

I won't preach here, but if you would like to know how I got sober, and more importantly, how I maintain sobriety, PM me. I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
More proof positive that AA offers a route to a lasting and happy sobriety. I agree that maintaining sobriety is important and, like you, I find that answer through a reliance on God's will for me and spiritual principles. The fellowship is a wonderful too and provides an important place to carry the message to others who still suffer.
Nice that you invite others to ask you about your experience, strength and hope. The message can be carried outside the rooms as well as inside the rooms.

I too have got a life I never dreamed possible today by walking in the doors of AA and being led to a spiritual life through the steps, sponsor and HP (not God, for today).
The word I love about your shareis 'peace'. I never had that before and it is lovely to have that today.
