Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I drank. As simple as that. Im disgusted with myself, my partner is disgusted with me.
It wasnt just one drink - It was a 2 day bender. 7 bottles of wine - lots of which are stained all over my partners carpet.
I had been doing so well, 60 full days sober. what a waste.

6 days, 60 days, 60 weeks, 60 months or 60 years away from alcohol doesn't make you immune from powerlessness.
It doesn't have to be like this - only you can make a decision to do what thousands of other alkies have done to get and stay sober permanently. That is the only thing that is up to you in this!
I echo the sentiments of so many who have already answered your post:
1. You drank. So what?! You never have to do it again if you don't want to.
2. You did make it to 60 days. Titanic!! 60 days is nothing to sneeze at. I know I was absolutely AMAZED when I made it to 60 days. Frankly, I was amazed when I made it to 60 hours! You now have the advantage of knowing you CAN give up alcohol.
3. Like Whoo-Hoo, I remember when you first showed up here. Remember that business trip you took, BY YOURSELF -- and you were what? 3 weeks sober at that point or something like that? You did NOT DRINK!! That was a REALLY STUNNINGLY DIFFICULT THING TO ACCOMPLISH!! I am so IN AWE of you for being able to do that!!
Everyone here is right. This was not a failure unless you LET it defeat you, and from the tone of your posts, it sounds like you're not willing to do that! So good for you!! And you know everyone here at DS is here for you whenever you need us!
Well good morning my little freinds. I have had a wonderful sober unhungover morning (well afternoon, im lazy lol)
I am so glad i chose not to drink yesterday, it felt great.
Today im feeling very positive. though I am going to talk to my partner today to tell him I wont be going to the alcohol shop ever again.
The bottle of wine (which he said he would drink to get rid of it, but didnt) is going into the bin today.
I love this feeling of being awake.
60 days is pretty darn good. That's 60 days your live got to experience healing, too. In time, your body will begin to prefer the healthy feeling and you will too. Before you know it, you'll start seeking ways to keep the good feelings about not drinking, instead of looking to the past.
One day at a time!
Johanna
Im hoping they cancel each other out lol.
Thank you everyone for the support. Im feeling very strong again. xxx
We're all in this together.
