Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I just wanted to say how thankful I am to have 6 months of sobriety under my belt. These milestones make me remember very vividly the hell I lived in before I decided I had had enough. The last two months have been very stressful with some family issues. I can't even imagine what I mess I would be dealing with all this if I was still drinking.
I feel more comfortable in my skin now than I probably ever have. It's very empowering knowing that I've come from a place that was darker than I ever thought I'd encounter and coming out on the other side with a whole new world waiting for me to discover.
Stay strong!

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I went through some major stressful family issues a few years ago when I was drinking, as well as right now, being sober. I can tell you first-hand, that dealing with heavy stuff when you're drinking just magnifies it 1000%. It still sucks, but being able to process and prevail with a clear calm head makes a tremendous difference in your psyche!
I'm toasting you all with a nice hot mug of Trader Joe's pumpkin pie spice coffee!
Please feel free to share with us how you did it. It may help someone else!
God Bless!
That is incredible and I loved reading your perspective on how life differs for you now that you are sober.
Great post:)

I know that feeling of looking back and shaking your head, thinking, "Wow. How did I even tolerate that Hell?" Keep that in your arsenal.
