Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Good to hear you are doing well.
I only asked about "the repercussions" because my greatest fear that I have used to not drink at times is the repercussion of falling back into my old ways and not being able to stop again.
With parties, social events and the like you will have to find your own limit as to what you can and can not do, its different for everyone. I like to still make it to places (albeit for a far shorter time than I used to stay around) and have a little inner pride that I don't need to drink to have a good time, whereas I have a good mate that won't go anywhere alcohol is available as he doesn't think he could resist the temptation, or he would not have fun resisting. It also depends on the crowd you will be meeting, I know I had one group of friends that all liked a good drink and used to always offer it up if I saw them with "go on a couple wont hurt" and the like, not the best crowd to hang around with when you are trying so hard to stop. Keep up the good work and I hope you will find your social limits.
