Good morning to all! Today it has been 1 week since I drank any rot gut. I have to say it feels fantastic. Just the thought of drinking turns my stomach. I have to thank all of you, as your words of wisdom has helped immensley. Also not feeling alone has helped out. I am going to start posting more regularly as it helps. I have to be very vigilant(for the rest of my life) as I know it can creep back into my head.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
Why did I have a bad day? I stopped doing all the things I had been doing which gave me 5 years of sobriety like staying in touch with my sponsor and my support system, regular prayer and meditation. as well because I didn't think I needed those tools anymore. I was wrong.
The first thing I did when I came to my senses was call my friend and sponsor and had a very long discussion with him. He said all the right things to me and I have since had another 6 years of sobriety..
Try not to look too far ahead, . One day at a time!
