Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
If I feel I can't go for an outing, I sit outside in my front or backyard instead and a walk around the neighbourhood is fine for me as well.
I find when I have complete control over what I am doing, I can do it. However when on a car ride with other people they don't stick to the plan and choose to do more which heightens my anxiety.
Do things by yourself, just for you and you may find it easier as I do.
