Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."

I was diagnosed with agoraphobia and clinical depression about 4 years ago and at that time i was at rock bottom, I spent 2 years in my house with my kids and would only ever leave with my husband and even then it was a challenge. after 2 years of different pills and therapy my psychologist threw his hands up and said "i don't know what to do with you anymore" He called it Treatment Resistant Depression and it was at that point i realized i had to help myself and really broke through the inability to leave my home alone i went back to school and have been able to function in public again. but i am still left crippled in the social aspect of my life. Socially i am still isolated i have no friends and really have no idea how to even begin to make them. It is now taking its toll on my marriage. He doesn't understand how hard it is for me to make friends or even how i cant begin to start the process. I want to get out and find other people to be around, Ihave looked for support groups and have found none i have looked for parents groups and they are all for when i work or have family obligations. I just dont know what to do anymore and just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? or anything that could help me

Maybe you could try looking into penpal websites, go to some community event, get involved with your children at school, join some kind of club at school if you can, all are ways that you could meet people. I'm sorry i dont have much advice to give, but i wish you the best of luck!

ashleynicole55 is right. Start small and work your way up. A penpal or something like that might help you out.

I keep trying to start small, sometimes i find that some people just don't know how to handle my personality or have any understanding for some of the odd or weird things that come out of my mouth because i am so worried that i am going to say the wrong thing.

I know it can be hard to go outsid. All you can do is try your best to go outside. Some day it can be hard and other day can easy. You can do baby step. That what I do sometime. You do not have to go outside everyday. You can try when you feel that you are ready and want to try. It not a good idea to do too much at once.

On Saturday, while I was at yard sales with my best friend, my lawn guy texted me that he did my lawn. This costs me $70 every two weeks or so. I don't have great grass so sometimes, he skips. Anyway, I paid him on CashApp when I got home. On Sunday morning, he texted me again, to say goodbye because he was moving. My little thinking cap went on and I thought about how I am healthier...
