Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."

I can really relaet. Is hard meeting people in general. I get nervous but I still walk. I just am very aware of what time I go walking, and I carry a pocket knife now. You can't be too careful in some places.

Hey sweetheart. I have the same trouble. I am scared to go outside or go walking. I always keep my head down. I am always terrified that something horrible is going to happen. These four walls are starting to feel like a prison.

I know how you feel. I am scared to go outside. I know it can be hard to do it. I know some people can be mean and rude to us because we are scared to go outside. That hurt my feeling and they just do not unstsnding how it is to be scared of something. Maybe you can have someone to go outside with you. Maybe you can start by sit on your stair or stand by the door. Just be patient. Things will get better for you. Just keep try. Hugs

I understand. Sometimes it takes hours to gear up to going out for something. (or days)

Baby steps and a lot of inner peace work it's deeper then what's on the surface. I don't struggle with agoraphobia anymore in fact forgot this was on my groups list. Its interesting to look back on. I'm sorry for your struggles. Be patient with yourself. When you do go out try giving yourself a reward to look forward to. Think about things you really love to do even if it's somthing like knitting if you can take the knitting outside or find a class near by. I do no be creative whatever it is that would make you feel like it's worth it to step out. I know the people thjng is hard too. Starting with sitting at the back or thinking of the simplest conversations you could have. Quick and simple. I hope this helps. Helps to figure out what started your fears that's a slow and brave process to work through I think.

It's hard for me if I'm having agoraphobia, however, for the most part, I keep my head up, stare at people in the eye, smile and say hello. The rest is up to them. Looking down makes you vulnerable and tells those who are shady, that you are timid and afraid. Don't let anyone ever see it even if you are feeling it. Hugs

On Saturday, while I was at yard sales with my best friend, my lawn guy texted me that he did my lawn. This costs me $70 every two weeks or so. I don't have great grass so sometimes, he skips. Anyway, I paid him on CashApp when I got home. On Sunday morning, he texted me again, to say goodbye because he was moving. My little thinking cap went on and I thought about how I am healthier...
