Good question. :) I have also decided to tell a few close friends with whom I have stayed overnight on a semi-regular basis. Not everyone, though, it just depends on the friend. I am confident enough in my ability to manage things discreetly if need be that I never feel obligated to tell anyone just because I am staying with them, unless I want to. Telling them does make things considerably easier in many respects, though - there is much less "sneaking around" that needs to be done, and some of them have even obtained waterproof covers for their mattresses for use when I stay with them (which was a very nice touch)! Basically, if it's someone I know and trust really well and am comfortable with them knowing, I tell them. Otherwise, I just do what I need to do to keep it hidden.

in my case family know, some close friends and boss know. it is not a big deal if others find out but I tend to keep it private. I had a co-worker who was experiencing troubles so I shared it with him and helped him along and was a good listener for him.

My mom knows, because when I was a teenager she was the one who took me to the doctor's. My best friend also knows, because I tell her everything.

My boyfriend knows because now that we're older (we've been dating since 15) he spends most nights at my place. I was really nervous to tell him about it, because I've always been embarrassed about it. He took it so much better than I expected. The first time it ever happened with him in bed, he got up and helped me change the sheets, and gave me the biggest hug when I started crying because of how embarrassed I was. I'm lucky to have such a supportive guy.

I do not broadcast the fact that I am incontinent. But if asked I will tell. My whole family knows including aunts and cousins. Several friends know. most people are pretty good about it.

Most people know and it's really not a big deal. From high school age and older, I didn't get teasing and at best just a wise crack about my diapers. Once as an adult my cousin made a wise crack about me still in dipaers and i responded with "While I may be in diapers forver, you will always be nasty". The acceptance of diapers has gotten much better after Goodnites and Underjams hit the market and took off. Now adult diapers are not taboo and people could care less.

Just my ex girlfriend. She was kinda supportive but she also hated it at the same time and it was a massive turn off for her :(

I wouldn't recommend telling people. Everyone you tell tells someone else. I made that mistake. I hear People I don't even know talk and point at me now.

I kept it a secret from everyone for years and years because of how embarrassed I was. My mom knew about it because she found many of my wet diapers throughout junior high and high school but know one else in my family knows about my bedwetting and I plan to keep it that way forever. It's no one's business and I remain extremely embarrassed about my situation.

The majority of my family knows. I have spina bifida occulta which is the cause of mine matched with an under developed bladder and 3 kidneys. As for outside of the family... 3 very close friends, my daughters father (he had to know due to a 6 year relationship and living together which isn't easy, I hid it the first 2 years!), and that is about it. It's a hard thing to tell someone and make them understand why.

I tell people when I know I need to. How do I know when I need to?

If I know I'm going to be spending the night with someone who may be sharing a room or a bed with me then obviously I probably should tell them. If I don't I'll be acting suspicious all night and most likely be nervous.

Other times it may be a close friend that I feel like sharing that part of my life with.

Doctors are a must. I find it hard to believe people have a hard time telling doctors about problems like this but I guess some people are just too embarrassed .

Growing up everyone in the neighborhood knew I wore diapers. They were hung out on the clothes line to dry when it was nice out. If not nice out, then they were hung on a wooden drying rack in the living room. Once I move away,, I didn't let anyone know other than my wife and of course, my doctors. I wore diapers day and night because of accidents. Now, it doesn't bother me to tell people. I help veterans file claims against the VA, and I use incontinence as an example of how the VA pays for it when it is service connected (it is based upon the number of changes made on a daily basis). So I often use myself as an example.

In my case (I am 26), my immediate family, my sister's husband, my first cousins the same age (a couple of them still wet as well). Also, my roommate from college and his mother (probably father as well).

my wife knows of course and is very supportive and assures me that my bedwetting and incontinence doesn't bother at all. With her encouragement I told my doctor when I started to wet the bed and was refered to a urologist and then a continence nurse. Some of my close family know and that is about it. I no longer try and hide it though. My inco pants, kylies and bed sheets are often on the line so it will be obvious to our neighbours I have a bladder problem. No one has mentioned it but I guess it isn't something you bring up in conversation. I have to wear pads during the day now as my daytime wetting is more than the odd dribble. I did worry at first about people being able to see my pad (which although my wife says she can't I am pretty sure it will be noticeable) After a while I stopped worrying and just get on with life and change when needed.
When I was a teenager my sister used to delight in telling her friends I still wet the bed most nights and showed them my bed with it's plastic matteras cover. I know that my wife has told her I am incontinent now so what she thinks I don't know.
