A place for adults who still have problems wetting the bed to talk about their feelings, to discover solutions, and to talk about life in general.
Obviously, bedwetting isn't the kind of thing you bring up on an occasional basis: "Hi, I'm X and I'm a bedwetter." On the other hand, there have been times in my life when it was necessary to tell people about my problem, such as when friends stayed over at my house. It wasn't easy, but I found them understanding. Then, of course, there are doctors (though some people are too shy to even raise it with them), family members, etc. My question is, are there any people you feel should know, and how do you go about telling them? What circumstances cause you to feel that you must tell them? Etc.

I stopped peeing my bed at a so called normal age and was dry at night until middle school, then I started to have some occasional accidents. Once ever few months or so. I was so embarrassed that I kept it from my family. I only confided in one school friend who thankfully kept my deep secret all these years. He so could have exposed me in middle school and into high school.
Now as I got into a relationships I kept my bedwetting a secret unless I felt it was necessary to let my girlfriend know. That only happened twice. Once with a close girlfriend and then with my to be wife. It was awkward both time, but I found out their support was way more than my awkwardness. Both accepted my situation and like my best friend in MS made me feel like it was no big deal.
Now to the parents. When it started I never let my dad know his son was pissing the bed. He would have flipped. Cause of that I never let my mom know. She would have been supportive, but dad would find out and I did not want to risk that. I only let mom know years and years later. Just the two of us were taking a road trip and had been driving for quite a while. I was getting desperate and finally admitted to her I needed to pee real bad and would be taking the next rest area or exit. Little did I know that would not be for another 30-40 mile. As I grew desperate I squirmed a bit as I drove on hoping for an exit. Mom commented on my obvious display of desperateness saying, you can hold it. The rest of that story can come later on request. LOL But mom did find out her son was wetting his bed occasionally and had been since teen years on that trip.
So, that is my story on this topic. Hope it helps some to know they are not alone.
