Hi - I don't think there is a 100per cent answer but this works pretty well for me:

1. High capacity good quality adult diaper - in my case a Tena slip maxi - cheaper brands simply do not perform well enough for overnight but I do sometimes us them in the day when it is going to be easy to change in time to prevent over-filling and leakage.

2. Fairly snug boxer-briefs or similar - made of cotton to absorb minor seepage - if it happens which isn't often and more importantly to help keep the nappy in the right place.

3. Large size disposable absorbant pad - These foten last a long time as they don't often get wet - BUT as they age they scrunch up easier and tend to get out of position faster than new ones. They are not expensive so it is worth renewing after a few nights even if not stained.

I use Dribbler's items 1 and 2 - with a light thin plastic pants between, and rubber pants overall. But not item 3 as I move about too much in sleep and dislodge pads. Content myself with rubber sheet on mattress and washing botttom sheet if [rare] leaks occur.

I agree on items 1 and 2. I use the Molicare Super Plus when I am having a spell of wet nights, but I also use the premium pull on when its intermittent. I would also recommend a large reusable bed pad. They are large enough that they stay in place better than disposables and they offer great protection.

Yeah, i use a diaper and plastic pants at night too, under boxer briefs or pj bottoms. Its more for occasional leakage. do you use the bed pad under the sheet or over it?

I keep the pad on top, that way I don't have a sheet to wash if I leak. I find that it stays in place pretty well and is not uncomfortable at all.

For travel & sleepover I use a pad on top to protect the sheet. Several light packable ones on the market now.

I use an adult diaper, absorbant pad under me, and a plastic matress cover.

On the matress covers, I've used the Mainstays Vinyl covers from Wal-Mart, and they seem to dry and crack after only a few months. I've ordered a heavier 8mil thickness cover from an online store, so hopefully this won't be a problem.

Yes, the hardening/cracking is the usual problem with vinyl/plastic - chemical reaction I suppose. I use a rubber sheet on the mattress - more expensive, getting harder to find, but very long lasting.

Yep, I have the same problem. I usually replace the vinyl mattress cover every few months.

There is no substitute for the good old vinyl (rubber) sheet. Just wipe it down with some soapy water and its good.

We have a waterproof matteras cover and a kylie under the sheet at my side of the bed. I wear tena maxi pads at night and if I leak at all the wetness is contained in a small area.
