Hi, I am trying to locate where an adoptees support group may meet. A lot has been running through my head, and the people I talk to really don't know what I'm going through. They 'understand', but no one that I know of, knows what it's like to be adopted. I've always have known that I was adopted since I could remember, but now that I am getting older, more and more things are running through my head. I just want to be able to talk to someone who is on the same page as me. I figured there has to be a group that meets, somewhere. If anyone knows, or has a comment, I would really aprrciate it! Thanks!

The USENET was a network that set up "groups" or discussion lists, where people could get together on-line (more like just by e-mail) and discuss any topic. One of these USENET groups was (and still is) alt.adoption for adoptess to discuss issues. Others, like alt.adoptive.parenting are for adoptive couples (or single parents).
Anyway, there are now many ways to interact with USENET groups, inclduing going through GOOGLE:

The alt.adoption group has been around for more than 20 years, and some of the "regulars" there can surely point you to all sorts of places for face to face contact and support, as well as other on line resources.
