First of all there is NO off the bus option. Keir is young, strong and WILL get his transplant. As the wisdom on this thread states, it is always a waiting game. I relapsed 5 days before transplant and had to clinical trial on a fingers crossed situation for 6 weeks to even get there. I got married in those 6 weeks, I gained remission in those 6 weeks and I likely took a drug that helped eradicate what was causing my relapse.

At the time Lori I was so hatefully and nervously sad, mad, (add every bad adjective here) All I can say is the OFF THE BUS is not an option and I know that at a place like Rush they would never consider that. I just wish you had a point Doc there who would let you know that. Like my doc Dr. Roboz. Even if plexxicon didnt work for me, she said I have many plans up my sleeve and we are going to get you there. Those words were golden and I offer them to you.

I was in much worse shape than Keir (relapsed, two YEARS of chemo, had a low EF number etc etc) And you know where I am now.

We love you guys. We support you guys, and keep on reaching out whenever you need.

Thanks Ed -- I am sure this is welcomed information to Lori. The medical people will do whatever they can -- there might be a delay but it will not be for long. I have not see anything from her today -- I expect if it is a go she is extremely busy. Take care -- dave

YIKES! I don't want to steal Lori's thunder or betray any HIPAA laws, but I just wanted everyone to know (and was hoping that Lori posted) that Keir is full speed ahead to transplant.

As for me, it only took me 3 hours to go from my home and get into the hospital parking lot. I only live 38 miles from the hospital. Got a tetanus shot and saw the nephrologist. My kidneys are OK and he doesn't want to see me back for 6 months.

So...there is normalcy around the bend for all of us. Some will get there faster than others, but with God's help we will all get there!!

I couldn't be happier for Lori and Keir.

Thank goodness for Cliff -- no problem with your spilling the beans -- I was getting really concerned, and Lori probably has a lot more on her mind than us, and that's fine. The important thing is that Keir is cleared for takeoff.

So, let's all take just a few minutes and thank God for answering all of our prayers made on Keir's and Lori's behalf. Every day is a day for Thanksgiving. Love you all -- dave

Thank you all. I am pretty exhausted and had some wii fii issues (and my brother just got his colon cancer scans back - clear ) so I am late in posting but thank you Cliff and thank you all. Keir is feeling very well and eating and exercising well again.

I have a question: We've gotten all the test results back so far except the bone marrow biopsy. He had it on Tuesday around 1 p.m. I know final results can take a while, but if there was something worrisome in the preliminary, would they know by now? I am trying to alleviate anxiety (as usual) but also we are supposed to do an all day busulfan test Monday and it's going to snow here and I am scrambling to make arrangements. I know there can always be an emergency, but would they wait until Monday to tell us if there was a problem with Keir's bone marrow biopsy or would the morphology - which should not take more than a couple of days, right - indicate that by now?

In all my experience with Bone marrow biopsies, they know relapse within 24-48 hours. I am sure he is on course and ready to go. That is just my experience.

Thank you Ed. I tried calling the nurse there but all she could tell me is that results usually take a week to be posted and there was nothing posted. I appreciate your input greatly.

Yes most full results do take a week to post. Again I am at sloan where i find things out so quickly, but with everything going on and them being vigilant to get Keir on track I am very happy that the 18th remains the go date.

To date I have had six bmb and I have received the results in less than 24-hours except for the first one that was used to determine my cryogenic. I'm spoiled like Ed.

So glad everything is going to plan. I agree if there was relapse, I believe you d know.

Lori -- no news is good news -- if there was a problem they would let you know at first detection and probably even get Keir on something else. Please rest assured that all is well.
