Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
I told doc I thought he would soon be "kicking ass." She agreed. I pray it all continues and we one day get to meet and thank our young, male, "international donor!"
I will continue to pray for him.
Hugs and prayers.

You and Dave are in my prayers

My donor was also from Germany. After the two year waiting period, I contacted him and send him a note every Easter and Christmas. He is young with a young family and an EMT, One major plus about living in the computer age is that there is an international registry for bone marrow donors. I wouldn't be alive today were it not to exist,
Cliff
So happy to read this hopefully he'll start feeling better soon.

He started physical therapy today. Docs want him doing something everyday to help build strength and get back to living.
From where we are today, there is one 22 year old male somewhere in the world that we all want to hug -- right now, we are just praying he is rewarded a thousand fold for doing what he did for a complete stranger. He has given us hope. Thanks to him, God, the docs, St. John Neumann and all the saints we prayed to - and thanks to everyone who has prayed on my brother's behalf.
I pray all the time for everyone on this site and everyone in the world fighting this disease.

I hope to someday get to thank Jeremy's donor.
Hugs and prayers.

Whoever he is, may God bless him and his family. Hope someday to be able to say thanks in person.
Progress is slow but for now, it is progress.
Prayers to all
So happy to read such great news about Dave! !!! Those Germans are kicking our butts when it comes to bone marrow donations. I have met so many whose unrelated donor was German. Praying for continued remission and healing.
Blessings
Julie
I feel truly pleased
