I am thinking about switching from Sandostatin LAR (Octreotide) to Somatuline Depot (Lanreotide). I am doing fairly well with the Sando but I would prefer to give the injections myself.....and avoid trips to the clinic...also I want to be able to travel and have the Lanreo shipped to me.....

Does anyone have any experience making the switch? Is Lanreo better, worse, or the same? Any side effects? Problems with the drug or with giving oneself the shots?

I would greatly appreciate any feedback I can get....

Hi there, the pharma company Novartis has a Home Nurse program where a nurse comes to your house to give you Sandostatin injections, it is free and convenient. see their website:

Thanks, AZ Treasure! I went online to that url and read through the nurse program....unfortunately it says michigan residents are not eligible! I am going to pursue it and found out why! Thanks again.
