I thought I'd post an update - 6 days post surgery!
I was diagnosed with acromegaly in January of this year and have just come out the other side of surgery. I was fortunate enough to use my private healthcare that was provided by the company I work for to get diagnoses and surgery. As a result, Prof John Wass (those from the UK may be aware of his tv program and books) was my endocrinologist and Mr Simon Cudlip was my surgeon. Both fantastic and I feel very fortunate to have been in their care.
Firstly, I have to say how very surprised I was to see the rapid decrease in acromegaly symptoms within just a few hours after surgery. The morning after surgery was the first time in ages that I was able to walk without hobbling around due to stiff joints. I was able to fully clench my fist as the swelling in my hands had subsided. The puffiness in my face has virtually gone - I look a lot younger, less tired etc now. I haven't weighed myself yet but I suspect I've lost a few pounds too due to reduced water retention.
The surgery itself went well, the surgeon was hopeful that he had removed the entire tumour. I still get a fair bit of weeping from my nose but I guess that's par for the course. I'm still tired and I fatigue easily but it's still very early days.
All in all, I'm far more positive about enjoying a normal(ish) life now. I just wanted to say a massive 'thank you' to those that had taken time to read and comment on my previous posts, especially to JohnD1 for your messages. Hopefully, with the experience of surgery, I will have more advise and support to offer others now.

So happy for you that your surgery is over and outcome was successful. Had my surgery in February this year and I am still in amazement as to the changes in my physical appearance.

i am so glad that you feel so much better after your surgery. it is amazing how this condition can sap our energy.
Like you i also noticed immediately after surgery a reduction in puffiness in my face. My c-pap machine which had been my regular night time supporter for years i was able to say goodbye to it immediately post surgery. My anaesthetist friend found that most amazing and almost impossible!
Anyhow even though you feel fine make sure you continue to take your treatment and visit your endocrinologist regularly.
