Hi I've been on it for two months now. Results: obviously clearer skin and even skin tone. Side effects: dry skin under my nose (having hayfever might be a contributing factor), very dry lips, eyes slightly dry. I know that my face is dryer, or would be if I wasn't using this amazing product called Bio Oil!!! and I recomend Rawleighs for lips. Amzazing. Generally all good - keep drinking heaps of water!

I've been in it for about 5 weeks now and so far everything's good. Only slight side effects, and the oil has dried up. Breakouts are still happening, but not nearly as heavy as before the treatment. I feel it is working!

I used it and the side effects were not nice and apparently if you have ever used accutane you cannot get dermabrasion or stuff similar done because the accutane changes your skin forever. So if you ever get acne again or want to try to get rid of scars you are outta luck. Acne is usually caused by hormonal issues so try that route first, I say.

I tried everything in the world for my severe acne, and nothing worked until Accutane. Within the first month i started seeing differences, within three months others were starting to really notice and within six months my acne was GONE!!
there are some side effects but i never experienced anything major.. and i never did get dry, red skin from it...just the extrememly chapped lips.
made me emotional at times, body and muscle cramps, etc..nothin major.

it Doesnt work for everyone but you can only give it a shot!

i was on it for six months . I was happy until my acne came back 6 months after , so sad ... It did cost a lot !!! Do u think i should try it again after its been a year and a half ????

I think you should give it another go. Sadly for some it does return and it IS usuallsy six months after stopping the treatment. I fortuantely had med insurance so got the very expensive pills for like 8 dollars a month. but talk to your doc /derm about it and like a lot of ppl u would prob take it 6 months on 6 months off and hope it completely clears up someday!!

I have been on accutane now for 1 1/2 months. I will be done in a month and have already noticed a tremendous change. I seemed to have lost 10 layers of skin on my face in the first few weeks but as soon as I started peeling my breakouts went away. I noticed that my blackheads got really BLACK and gross but a few days of scrubbing and they went away. I am so far very happy with it and aside from really dry lips and nose I have no other complaints.

I'm currently in my first month of Accutane and I've seen results already! My face is looking better, and I have had WAY less break-outs since I started. The dryness is the main thing I've noticed so far. I use moisturizer on my face (Cetaphil) and I was wondering if anyone knows something better than Chapstick for the dry/peeling lips?

I just wanted to say that I was on accutane twice. The first time didn't clear me up so I did a second dose. I'm currently dealing with infertility, and was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure at the age of 26. I also have a brother who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 18. We have no prior history of any of these things in our family, but we both have done numerous rounds of accutane. Just some food for thought.

I'm a guy so I don't know how this drug might affect you, but i will tell you how it affected me and give you some tips, the only symptom that really bothered me was I got some pretty bad aches and pains in all of my joints for about two and a half months, but they cleared up at about month three of treatment, I did also get some really dry skin and lips, I found that chapstick and lotion cleared it up though, the best lotion I found for my skin was in the green EOS hand lotion, and it was easy to carry. and also try to watch your food intake as in make sure you are eating enough, because I had NO appetite on this medication so I lost about 25 pounds. now as far as the depression I didn't get anything like that, and most of that stuff is because the person is already sad about their skin and they get bullied because of their acne, you just gotta keep your chin up! I hope I was helpful.

I'm on it right now. I was on 40 mg but had to switch to 20 mg because my triglycerides were high. My skin is STUBBORN, but it's looking a lot better. It's my second month and I am seeing good results. Just keep track of your emotions and tell someone you're close to that you are taking it so that they can tell you if they think something is wrong. My skin is fairly dry but not horrible. I did get a rash because of the chemicals at work and Accutane making my skin way more sensitive, but the rash went away with a low-dose steroid cream, like the kind you use for poison oak. Also, don't get a sunburn! I did and it was very painful. My sister was the one who urged me to take it because she did and she looks fabulous now, so I am hoping for the same results:] Good luck!
