I went to a Big Book study tonight....we did the first part of Bills Story.

The line that stood out for me the most tonight:-

'Liquor ceased to be a luxury; it became a necessity'

Looking back I had always drunk alcoholically (the first drink getting me drunk). However, as the years went by, I used alcohol as my solution to everything; it is only today that I realise that it was in fact the problem.

went to one of my local groups tonight.new it was going to be an open meeting.Got asked to do (top table share) which is like a 15 minute or so share about your exp strengh and hope but only asked 2 mins before start. Proberbly better that way No time to get nervous lol.I knew most of the room so i felt ok my friends said it was fine but hey they would of course! went last of three we were all different but its satisfying to be able to contribute. ive met alot of good people in the rooms and were all different aprt from one thing
ive had a lot of help from aa with my recovery and i am gratefull

Just got home from mine, it was a great meeting & everyday I'm socializing more & getting to know people (finally) yay! :)

Got my ticket for my home group's annual barbeque next month so I can't chicken out cause not only do I have a ticket but I signed up to bring food. I'm all in!

Well, I've skipped mine..again! ugh...BUT it was because I was having a great conversation here with a great gal and so it's her fault! Her name? Serenity! Yeah, that's her! lol

Actually, God had me where He wanted me, because I'm feeling so much more at ease after talking with her for so long. A lot of laughs and she even tried to make me cry...you know..those happy tears! (o;

I went to the first meeting in along time. It was great!!!!i have to say it because of all
of you i went . I called a friend and we went. It was on our Higher Power simply pulled my
day together. im going back and coming back here.

HC good stuff. I was taught the more we get involved the less we think of are self. Go figure.

Went to the strangest meeting tonight. A woman was there with just over 6 months. She was told her dad died today. Rather than drink she came to the meeting. No cliches, Not really any advice. The message was that we were there when she needed us. She said she knew. That was why she was there instead of the bar across the street.

Ben to quite few like that. Really nothing strange about it. the message has always been need to be with my other " family "
